The drilling continued as I attached the filler box to the upper firewall and updrilled those holes to final size

Then more troubles. This aluminum strip from the kit is pre-cut and mostly pilot drilled, however it is a little tricky to get in its proper place.  It was a minor irritant.

Putting on the Southco fasteners was a bigger irritant.  The upper firewall piece comes very nicely cut to finished size with the filler box flanges pre-bent and the flange the aluminum piece attaches to also bent and nicely fluted.  The flutes present a problem however.  First, when mounting the filler box the flutes have to be flattened at its attach points so that it will fit correctly.

Second, the flutes where the Southco fasteners go are also in the way.  Flattening them and keeping everything in shape was a problem.  I did manage to get them all on but it was not fun.
