I had also attached the flap to its hinge before I started to rivet. I found in drilling the holes for the hinge it really helped keep the hinge line true.  I first did this on the elevator and it worked great so I’m doing it with the flaps and ailerons as well.

The second picture shows the rear spar rivets all in place with about half of the bottom skin rivets in.

      I have preferred working with the wing flat. The next two pictures show why some people like to work on the wing with it in a vertical position.  You do have to reach for the middle rivets. However the setup is very secure and there is a still a lot of bending when the wing is in the vertical position.  It’s a wide wing vertically or horizontially.
