I had more tricks up my sleeve. The deflector I repositioned was also extended about an inch, but no changes were noted in engine temps. The first two pictures below show two different mods to the baffles that I have seen others perform. The front most cylinder on each side, is quite a bit cooler than the cylinder behind it. The idea is to close down some of the airflow over the front cylinders to force more air to go over the back ones.  Fine in theory but didn’t seem to do anything for me.

Mixed in with all of these I also went back to the drawing board on the secondary ignition timing.  It was clear that when the secondary ignition was off the CHT’s would drop and the EGT’s would rise.  A sure sign the secondary was advanced.

I don’t have pictures, but this time I made scratch mark on the magnet 90° to starboard and made some corresponding marks on the rear accessory plate. It turned out to be much easier to repeatable move the magnet precisely and I was able to adjust the secondary. I actually ended up retarding the spark quite a bit.

The last two pictures are of a harbor freight rolling tool cabinet that was 60% off the regular price.  My Mom  and Dad sent me some birthday cash and I went right out and bought it.  I kicked in less than $50.
