The first picture shows the engine with the exhaust and intake manifold removed, as well as all the various baffles and wiring that had to be disconnected.  Because I roll the engine around on my cart, the oil cooler is dropped out of the way. I then put my cart under the engine and disconnect the bolts.  Then I rolled it over to the engine stand and mounted it to that.

But the bolts I disconnect are the bolts holding the engine to the accessory plate, not the bolts holding the accessory plate to the engine mount. The third picture shows the accessory plate still in place. Chris Williams suggested this and it works well and saves a more complicated disconnection.

The engine work had to wait for the next day. In the last picture you can see the loose exhaust pipes sticking out the side with no cowl or propeller on the airplane.
