A question you might be asking about my design is, why such heavy material?  When reading about supporting the ELT the FAA is quite clear that they don’t think attaching the ELT to fuselage skin is a very good idea.  They would like it mounted to some beefy structure.  They stop short of mandating any specific mounting but I took the hint since it seems like a good idea.

That’s why I made the box beam instead of just one piece of channel and also why I choose the heavy material to directly link the .125” longeron angle with my box beam supports. I also tie it into the large box beam fuselage cross member.  I wanted the ELT to sit below this shelf so that set a minimum width to be able to work the latch as shown in the second picture.  The assembly is ready to be riveted in place in the last picture.
