These four pictures show the results of the remaining machining operations.  First I will describe my modification.

In the first picture you can see that the air filter attachment plate can only be slipped on the body down to the height of the setscrew. As I noted in an earlier log, many people have had trouble with the filter interfering with the bottom of the cowling. I have come up with two mods that raise the Aerocarb 3/8”. The one I discussed previously took 1/8” off of the intake pipe. I gain the other 1/4” here.  The second picture shows the attachment plate in place with a recess having been drilled into the plate for the setscrew.  You can see the recess just to the right of the setscrew in the first picture. The recess is in one of the four symmetrical but redundant mounting ridges in the plate.  Only one is required for use.

The hole in the plate facing the camera in the third picture is the one used to mount the filter assembly.  I used a centering punch that fits the hole to mark it and then drilled the hole up to a #21 size for tapping.
