After the last post, I had just finished the lower crosstie. These pictures show the upper crosstie after it was cut.

I had some problems fitting it. There are several places in the plans that call for 1/8” radii for pieces to snuggle into an angle piece. The problem is that several of the pieces, although cut down, are made from larger stock that have a 1/4” inside radius.

I have had to adjust for these and the upper crosstie is one of them. The first and second pictures show the before and after of forming the ends with the correct radius.

It is also a very snug fit underneath with the bolt head and washers.
