I didn’t take these holes to the final size because the dimpling process slightly enlarges the hole.  I will reassemble the spar and drill the final hole size after the dimpling and countersinks are in place.

These pictures show the countersunk holes in the finished center web and about a third of the dimples done.  I still have to countersink some holes on the upper spar and finish the dimpling.

You can also see the markings on these pieces indicating which holes to dimple and what size to countersink.

The last picture also shows one hole that I enlarged to allow for the rivet to go in place.  When the rivet goes in all the way it still sits up a little because the dimple is rounded.  On this rivet, after I put it in place, I used the bucking bar and hammer to set the dimple the rest of the way.  This rivet now sits nice and flush but it is not set, it just pops out.  I will do this to all the holes before actually riveting to make sure the rivets head will be set just perfect.
