The glare shield needed to have pilot holes drilled after it was cut to size. It was then fitted to the instrument panel.

      With the instrument panel in place, the cross member could be fitted. In these pictures you can see that there is a bow in the cross member and the instrument panel. It is easily taken out with some light pressure and then drilled. When I was finished, the edge was straight with a nice .090” gap all along the bottom of the instrument panel and the guide.
