After finishing the cross ties, I have to make this assembly.  It uses two crossties that I cut and two flat sheet kit parts to form a box beam. I used my aluminum jig pieces to fix the pieces in place, three inches apart. I want this square with no twist.

The kit parts have pilot holes predrilled. After fitting the top piece I drilled it out.

To do the other side, I transfer the clecos to the inside. Although it will now rest on the small parts of the protruding clecos, it will still rest snug in the jig. Repeat the pilot drilling, updrill, deburr and clean and the cross tie plan page is done  – the bottom of the box beam is riveted later.
