The last post showed the forward skin fully attached to the bottom ribs and spar, but only attached at the spar on the top.

The first task was to start drilling the top part of the forward skin. These two pictures show that step in progress.

After it is all drilled to the pilot hole size, it was time to add the root/wing walk doubler. On the right wing the doubler is about two inch wide all around and is the skin the can be trimmed to fit the wing edge to the fuselage.  On this wing, the left one, the portion of the doubler that goes over the top aft skin is about 15 inches wide and serves to double the skin thickness in the wing walk area.

The edges of the root doubler have been highlighted in red in the second picture. The remaining two pictures show the edge in detail.
