Riveting really is the next step but it is a long journey to get there.  I first have to do the usual steps of deburring, scotchbriting and cleaning – always a pain, but especially on the spars.  Lots of big pieces with lots holes and edges that need to have all scratches and tooling marks removed.

This picture shows the completion of cleaning up the angle pieces I made. These are all ready to go.

    The first picture is of the spar broken down into the pieces remaining to be cleaned up.  This is before any deburring, etc. has taken place.  That’s a lot of holes!  Both sides!

    The second picture is after all those holes have been deburred.  I will finish the four web pieces first and then the spar caps.  Still a lot of work but when I finish and reassemble the spar it really is ready to rivet.
