It was on to Fiberglass and Painting after the airplane was complete. I started with the main gear wheel pants. They are structurally sound but they two halves of each pant had a seam that needed to be filled after they were assembled.
I bought some basic fiberglass supplies and got to work. I started on these pants because all I needed to do was a non-structural fill. I mixed up a batch of micro fill and slapped it on. I found it hard to get a nice even coat so I put on a lot which I could just sand down.
