The top two pictures are of the right cowl after it has been roughly fitted in place. No trimming has yet been done beyond the prop hub and nose wheel strut openings. It is also just held in place with tape. I repeated the procedure with the left half and examined the fit.
Others have complained that there is not enough material that overlaps between the two pieces to make the cowling without adding some fiberglass. At this point I can tell it will be close. Sonex says it should fit without adding anything but it is clearly trimmed too close to final size in my opinion. I will see how it goes and comment about it later.
