Midweek, I got some parts that allowed me to finish this assembly. The square tube will attach to the canopy. The canopy latch attaches to the tube via two screws that come through slots in the canopy latch. The tube itself doesn’t move and is aligned and prevented from moving by the pin I had previously made. I got the pieces in position, drilled the alignment hole and screwed in the pin. It works very nicely.
Picture two shows the pin that is inserted before flight to prevent the canopy latch from sliding out of the locked position.
