These pictures show the transponder installed into the tray.  The allen wrench is used to turn a screw in the rear of the unit that pulls it into the tray.  The unit ended up about an 1/8” more recessed than I intended but the location is fine as this allowed a slightly steeper pitch.  It clears the tank, which was the main objective, and is still easy to read and operate.
