Those two prototype pieces each took about half a day of work.  Along with flying on Monday, building the prototypes and a full day of long overdue shop cleanup, I had Joe and his wife down to inspect my plane on Thursday. Joe is EAA 153’s tech  counselor  and this is his second visit to my plane.  We had a great day, a great lunch and swapped model making stories as well.  He like the workmanship so I was happy.

I had a full weekend so I wasn’t able to get back into the shop until today.  I had decided I was going to cut a wood form block to make the piece in .032 material but after a couple of days to think about it, I decided to use .063 material instead.  This worked very well.

These two pictures show me cutting out a much simpler piece with the saber saw. The second picture shows the nice straight edge it made that cleaned up with the vixen file very quickly.
