Before doing the final riveting, I had an opportunity to check out the positioning of the holes and look at a problem I discovered but couldn’t quite see while the wings were attached.

      The two pictures below show the problem and the solution. In the first picture, you can see that the tail of one rivet comes out very far and would actually block the nut going on the bolt. I decided to drill the rivet out and install it the other way around. In the second picture you can see the new tail in the red circle and the head of the rivet in the mirror. The bolt turns fine like this and the rivet tail will not cause any interference with the wing structure – which will also hide it. I made this fix on both sides.
