With all the work on the inside done, I wrapped up with forward former.  It attaches to the cross tie box beam with the two plates shown in detail below.
          It also has a splice plate that joins them at the top and connects them to the center channel.

          With all the formers riveted to the frame and channel, the first rivets go into the turtle deck skin.
