I also had a chance to sit in the airplane with the garage door open and be able to see out for the first time.  I took some pictures of the view and am very pleased.  I put in some extra bolts on the front of the windshield to help reduce the scalloped edge effect.  There is distortion but much less than I feared and very tolerable.
